The Role
We are looking for a Front of House (FOH) Manager who shares our obsession with high-level hospitality. You will be the “conductor” of our dining room, ensuring that every guest experiences the seamless fusion of culture and sophistication that defines us. You will work closely with ownership to uphold our standards, mentor a dedicated team, and lead the floor of our vibrant, brick-and-mortar location.
Key Responsibilities
- Upholding Excellence: Oversee daily FOH operations, ensuring the dining room atmosphere is meticulously curated and service flows with the precision of a high-end city establishment.
- South American Spirit Advocacy: Lead a team that is knowledgeable and passionate about South American spirits. You will ensure the staff can confidently speak to our unique offerings, from Cachaça and Pisco to regional brandies and cordials.
- Elevated Hospitality Leadership: Act as the face of Ember & Alma. You’ll handle guest relations with grace, ensuring that our fusion hospitality feels authentic, professional, and welcoming to all.
- Staff Mentorship: Recruit, train, and inspire a team that treats the restaurant like their own. You will be responsible for maintaining professional standards and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Business Savvy: Assist with inventory management, payroll, and scheduling. You’ll work with the owners to ensure the business remains as sharp and efficient as our cocktail program.
- Community Engagement: Represent the brand within our community, ensuring Ember & Alma remains the gold standard for dining in the suburbs.
What You Bring to the Table
- Experience: 2+ years of management experience in a high-volume, craft-driven restaurant or cocktail bar.
- Founder’s Mindset: We are an independent business, not a corporate chain. We need a leader who treats the restaurant with a sense of ownership—someone who sees the “big picture” but isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves to support the team during a rush.
- Cultural & Linguistic Fluency: A deep appreciation for South American spirits and traditions. While not a requirement, the ability to speak Portuguese and/or Spanish is a significant advantage for communicating with our diverse team and clientele.
- Professional Standards: A “clean-as-you-go” mentality and proficiency in modern POS systems and inventory management.
- The “X-Factor”: A sharp personality, an appreciation for creative wordplay, and the ability to command a room with poise and confidence.
